Back in fall 2011, I (Mike) traveled to Guatemala to work for three weeks on a film (co-directed with the talented Charlene Music and Peter Jordan) about family planning in Guatemala. The finished piece, “Blessed Fruit of the Womb” is currently (as of winter 2014) on its festival run. We shot the project on the Canon 5DmkII (Peter Jordan and I share DP credits), and the experience really won me over to the potential of this camera. Charlene and Peter were amazing to collaborate with during the shoot, and I can’t say enough good stuff about Natasha Pizzey-Siegert, who field produced with me and helped secure incredible access on the ground in Guatemala. Oh, and by the way, the film won the Audience Award at the San Francisco International Festival of Short Films in 2013!
